FAQ’s

  • I always advise individuals to reach out to their insurance company and ask if they will reimburse lactation support by an “out-of-network” provider.

The Affordable Care Act states “health insurance plans must cover breastfeeding support and supplies as a preventative benefit without imposing cost-sharing such as deductibles, copayments or coinsurance. • At the conclusion of our visit I will provide you with an itemized receipt, a “superbill”. I recommend you contact your insurance company to verify how to submit the claim as every insurer does it differently.

  • We request a deposit / full payment at the time of booking. Upon completion of your consult you will be charged remainder consult fee and will be given a detailed receipt for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Most insurance companies reimburse lactation support and other services.

We encourage you to contact your insurance company to verify lactation services are covered.

  • You may be wondering “how do I prepare for a consult with us”

Well do not worry we have a few reminders!

    Please do:

-Fill out intake form linked in original confirmation email

-Try not to feed baby within an hour of our visit so they'll want to eat during our consult. If baby is super hungry give them a quick snack think quick breastfeeding session or an ounce/two depending how old your little one is.

-Make a list of all of you questions for me

-Have any gear you are using out (nipple shields, bottles, pumped milk, formula, nursing pillow, breast pump)

-If you have any questions about the breast pump you're using or bottles please have them available in case we need to look at them.

    Please do NOT:

-worry about how your house looks or what you are wearing...we get it and are all mamas and have kids!

-don't hesitate to tell us if something doesn't feel right. We are in this together!
